Tribunal affirms Nwifuru as Ebonyi gov

The Ebonyi State Election Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, affirmed the election of Francis Nwifuru as the Governor of the state.

The tribunal also dismissed the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate, Ifeanyi Odii.

The three-member panel headed by Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, held that the petitioners could not prove there was non-compliance with the Electoral Act in the election.

The tribunal also held that Nwifuru was duly sponsored by the All Progressives Congress in the election.

Ogunmoye, therefore, affirmed Nwifuru’s victory and dismissed the petition at no cost.
